Acceptable Use Policy
Effective June 7, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do with the Openfolio platform. It supplements the Terms of Service. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination.
You may NOT use the Service to:
- List or manage accommodation that is not operated by you or your authorised principal, including phantom listings to game OTA channels.
- Collect, store, or transmit personal data of guests under 13 without parental consent.
- Process bookings for venues used for prostitution, human trafficking, or other illegal activity.
- Misrepresent room availability, rates, or amenities in a way that constitutes a deceptive trade practice.
- Circumvent OTA contractual obligations through rate disparity loopholes (we sync calendars; we do not interfere with your OTA agreements).
- Send unsolicited bulk messages ("spam") to guests beyond the booking lifecycle and explicit marketing opt-ins.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or rate-limit-bypass the Service through automation other than the published API.
- Attempt to access another Tenant's data, including via session-hijack, parameter tampering, or social engineering of our support team.
- Resell, white-label, or sublicense the Service without a written reseller agreement.
- Use the Service in any way that exposes us to liability under sanctions, export-control, or anti-money-laundering laws.
Guest communications
Confirmations, reminders, in-stay messages, and post-stay review requests are part of the booking lifecycle and do not require separate consent. Promotional messages (win-back campaigns, newsletters, loyalty offers) require explicit opt-in from the guest, captured at booking time or via a separate signup. Unsubscribe links in every promotional email are mandatory and unconditional.
Reporting violations
If you see misuse of the platform - phishing emails using our brand, fraudulent listings, fake reviews - email abuse@openfolio.app with as much detail as you can share. We treat every report as urgent.
