Refund + Cancellation Policy
Effective June 7, 2026
This policy explains how subscription fees, commissions, and trials are handled when you cancel, downgrade, or close your account.
Subscription cancellation
- You can cancel at any time from your billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Fees already paid are NOT refunded for the remaining days of the period, except where required by local consumer-protection law or where cancellation is due to a material Service failure on our side.
- Your data remains accessible for 30 days after cancellation. After that the tenant is archived and the data is permanently deleted from production systems within 90 days.
Tier downgrade
Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. The next invoice reflects the new lower fee. We do not pro-rate downgrades mid-period.
Tier upgrade
Upgrades take effect immediately. The current invoice is pro-rated and the next invoice reflects the new higher fee.
Trial period
The 21-day free trial requires no payment method and produces no invoice. If you do not convert at the end of the trial, no charge is made and no cancellation is required - the account simply lapses.
Commission on direct bookings
Per-booking commission is billed monthly in arrears. Commission is calculated only on direct bookings that resulted in a confirmed and non-refunded reservation. Cancelled or refunded bookings are removed from the commission calculation. We do not bill commission on OTA bookings.
Material Service failure
If we suffer an unplanned outage longer than 24 hours in a calendar month, you are entitled to a pro-rated service credit on the affected month's platform fee. Service credits are applied to the next invoice and do not stack across months.
Founding-member pricing
Founding-member rates, granted at original signup, persist for the lifetime of the active subscription. If your subscription lapses for cancellation or non-payment and you re-subscribe, you re-enter at the then-current regular pricing - the founding lock does not survive lapse.
Refund requests + disputes
Refund requests outside this policy: billing@openfolio.app, with your tenant slug + the invoice number. We respond within one business day.
